Medical Oncology

Members of The Division of Medical Oncology participate in four main interdisciplinary research programs:

High-dose Chemotherapy with Autologous Bone Marrow Support:

This group is involved in clinical trials treating various types of malignancies with high-dose chemotherapy and autologous marrow rescue. The program also involves basic research in marrow cryopreservation and on colony-stimulating factors (in collaboration with the Division of Clinical Hematology, Faculty of Medicine and Oral Health Sciences).
 
Biology and Therapy of Hematological Malignancies:
 
This group studies the biology of myeloma and the role of colony-stimulating factors in the biology and disease of bone marrow. This research is done in collaboration with the Division of Clinical Hematology and the Division of Experimental Oncology.
 
Clinical Research on Pain and Symptom Control:
 
This internationally recognized interdisciplinary group investigates novel techniques for controlling the pain and nausea related to cancer and cancer therapies.
