Medical Physics

A Bachelor of Science Honours Program in Applied Physics with a concentration in Medical Physics is offered through the University of Alberta, Department of Physics (Faculty of Science). This is a four year undergraduate program, and students must meet the Honours in Applied Physics requirements. See Section 193.17 of the University of Alberta Calendar for more details

In Year 4, students take required and optional courses. Some of the Year 4 courses are the same courses that Medical Physics graduate students must take. These courses are: BME 564, ONCOL 550, 552, 562, 564, 568. Students enrolled in the BSc Honours Program in Applied Physics with a concentration in Medical Physics must take either Oncol 550 or Oncol 562 and up to three other of the above courses in their program. This will reduce the first year course load for those students who continue their studies in the U of A Medical Physics Graduate program.
