Experimental Oncology

The Department of Oncology is based at the Cross Cancer Institute, a tertiary care cancer facility located on the southwest corner of the University of Alberta. The Department of Oncology, which has seven Academic Divisions, is a basic and clinical science department that provides a focus for cancer-related research and teaching within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.

Laboratory-based basic and translational research training is provided primarily through the Division of Experimental Oncology. Students can obtain M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Experimental Oncology by fulfilling the guidelines established by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research and the Experimental Oncology Graduate Program

Our graduate students have access to state-of-the-art research facilities (link to multi-user facilities) and cutting-edge technology, allowing the development of skill sets that are in high demand in both academia and industry.

Please visit the Experimental Oncology Graduate Program  webpage for information regarding admission requirements, faculty members and their research interests and graduate program requirements.
